Sony Xperia Z3: arrival date, colors?

Well, like many of you, I'm looking forward to the Sony Xperia Z3. Unfortunately my HTC One (M7) has the dreaded purple tint camera in low light, and the battery isn't holding a charge that well anymore. It was purchased in April of 2013 and has served me quite well.

 

The Z3 is listed to be released in the UK on Sept. 29th, and the only news T-Mobile US has on the variant is listed here:

A few tech sites suggested that the US version would be released at the same time as the rest of the world, but T-Mobile's relative silence would indicate it might be a bit later.

 

To the best I can find, T-Mobile US will get the 32GB version in black only. Obviously this is a first-world problem, and there are quite a few other good smartphones, but I really would like to see it in white if at all possible.

 

I know the release date is controlled at the executive level, and the customer service representatives I've talked to couldn't (or wouldn't?) tell me any release date information. I'd really like to hold out for this phone as I could be much more worry free taking pictures of my kid playing around with less worry or hit the beach relatively care-free, but my phone is starting to really die on me.

 

Do any T-Mobile reps out there have info regarding the phone? Maybe T-Mo is waiting for the iPhone 6 hype to die down a bit?

1. Yes. On both band 4 (AWS, 1700) and band 2 (1900)

2. Yes. It confuses a lot of people.  Saying "1700/2100" makes people think that they can use a 2100 MHz (band 1) device, when the bands are actually very different. It's best to just say "AWS" or "band 4"

3. There are theoretical top-end speeds for the HSPA+ standard that assume many things: multiple towers, multiple channels, no other users, fully capable device, etc. I assume the phone is just saying it isn't really capable of matching the theoretical maximum speed. In reality, in my town, I see no more than about 8 mpbs download on HSPA+. More than fast enough to stream music or watch YouTube.

4. Oh dear lord! Don't get me started. Let's just say that the Marketing Dept. wanted you to know that T-Mobile's HSPA+ is so much faster than Verizon & Sprint's EvDO (3G) that it should really be called "4G". I'll just leave it at that.

Are you an existing Tmo customer? I'm switching from ATT and it hasn't been smooth at all (from registering for a My Tmo online account to pre-ordering the new iphone). I received an email saying the two I ordered are on back order and quickly contacted customer service for more information. Two different reps said I should be fine and mine should ship on the 19th (they explained Tmo does devices until the day they are technically released), but my last conversation with a 3rd customer service rep said that since my items are listed as back-ordered I would take a "longer" to have them shipped (I ordered mine on the 12th at 9:30am CST after waiting for 2 hrs for their website pre-orders to go live.....). I've tried checking for status updates online but the tool seems to be broken when using Chrome and IE. I get a message saying, "We are sorry, our systems are not currently available. Please, wait a few minutes and try again." It's been like that for days too.

I just got a text saying that all iphone 6 orders for tomorrow will be shipped via overnight. Now does this mean that folks that paid $6.99 for ground shipping will get overnight shipping? Because if so, I want my $18 back!

I just received an email from UPS stating that I should be delivered tomorrow and that the package is in transit.

It's so weird because I've never received a text or email from Tmobile and the lady robot still says my order is backordered....!

We'll see....Hopefully it's tomorrow !

This doesn't tell me anything.  Maybe you can tell us why we were led to believe that the Iphone 5 would have WIFI calling capabilities with the IOS8 update?  How in the world can the Iphone 5c get this over the 5?

I called and ordered one yesterday. Currently the order is pending and no additional charges were mentioned anywhere.

Good question, my guess is probably not...and maybe very few if I'm wrong. I talked to a in store rep and they mentioned that they likely wouldn't be carrying the 128GB Plus in store because they feel there wouldn't be much demand for the highest/most expensive tier device. Not sure about the other models...but doubtful in my humble opinion.

Hopefully I'll be getting that text soon.  I also paid for overnight shipping, so hopefully we do get that money back since they're sending them overnight anyways.

Got that text last night and another today: "We are shipping iPhone orders today using overnight delivery. Check my.tmobile,.com for tracking information"

 

Nothing there yet but fingers crossed it will go in later today.

Same thing for me. Got an email from UPS MyCHoice. iPhones are on their way. Delivery scheduled tomorrow. I'm so happy...!!

But It's so weird because I've never received a text or email from Tmobile and the lady robot still says my order is backordered....!

Same as everyone else!  THIS SUCKS T-MOBILE (I know, it's rude to shout).

Called customer support on 611, they told me expiration date, asked about online access to this, they said if I can't see it it's probably not there (WOW, BRILLIANT).

 

#999# shows balance but not expiration date.

 

I CAN get expiration data by audio at 611:

Do you want to refill? No

State what you want? Dollars and Minutes Remining

Excellent point. If it's in Austin, it's likely to be at your house today. The UPS drivers are MANIACs (in a good way) and will work till 8:00 or later to get the deliveries out. I order enough from Amazon to know my neighborhood UPS dude personally

I don't believe so.  I'm on a family plan with 2 iphones (5s), 5GB data, etc.  I'm assuming there was a credit check and all that.  We transferred over from Sprint.

My understanding is that AT&T will not be supporting wi-fi calling until 2015, but, if it's support on iPhone 5you are in need of,  you can see from these posts at this point in time there's no point switching.

yup, in Denver the lines started early last night. I was going to go but T Mobile said 5 times that I would have my phone today and then boom all of a sudden they can now see its backordered. They cant even tell me when it will ship, just that it will prob take 6 weeks. I was purposely lied to. They messed up the pre orders and then lied to customers saying if you pre order you will get priority shipping, and it was all lies. Worst customer service I have ever experienced. Its like they tricked us into pre ordering even though they knew we still would not get the phones anywhere close to the release date.

If you are financing your devices (EIP), a credit check was done.

If you're not financing your devices (BYOD or paid in full), there's a good chance they didn't run your credit.

Tried the reference number just now and...nothing. It says there is no information that matches. I am gonna guess my iPhone has not been shipped yet. But then why bother sending me an email saying it will be here Friday and charge my card?

Account Info not working

Over the past few days I have been getting this error when trying to access my account info in the T Mobile My Account app:

 

"The webpage at http://ma.web2go.com/myaccount/home.do?src=atmo could not be loaded because:

net::ERR_ADDRESS_UNCREACHABLE"

 

Then I get a popup reading "Please turn off WiFi and try again."

 

I've tried this and many other fixes but nothing is working. I can't remember if this started happening before or after I updated to 4.4.4. Is this a problem with my phone or a problem on T Mobile's end? Everything else on my phone works fine, even the device health section of the app. Thanks in advance!
